Fading into beautiful light

The best cover of a song I've heard.

Tomorrow is the last day of SPM. Not sure if I should be elated or saddened by the thought of saying goodbye.
Goodbye to teachers and the friends and schoolmates that I'd probably never see again, that is, not ze books -.-

I currently have 526 items in my 'la pulga' folder.

Salam, hola! :-)

YES. The trials are overrrr. Though, let's not talk about what's the next exam, aight? O.O I got a birthday card from my friends today, and it's got Leo in it! I also got one from Amirah the other day. Thank you so much :D It really means a lot. Insyaallah I'll post it some time around together with how I spent my birthday the other day (including three other posts in my draft -.-)

The official Leo Messi website is finally up! And lookie here:

A flaw:
I am quite shy
A virtue:
I try to be a better person every day

Shy? Woww, we have a LOT in common, Leo 8D Ok, don't mind me. And of course, there are some other mutual things, but it's between us I'm too lazy to put it up.

Maher Zain was at UIA yesterday, for the Free Palestine program, and my auntie, Cik Su was there. She said that there was a LOT of people, and most importantly, Maher passed through her, and winked at her! Whoaa xD The next fan meeting would be at The Curve! Insyaallah I'd probably go there :-)

If you haven't heard of Maher Zain, well -- okay, I seriously don't have any witty remarks to exclaim here, but, try and have a listen to his music. I kept humming his songs during the exam, and had to force myself to focus on the paper and think about 'how does cutting a part of Mr X's small intestine affect his body mass' questions -.-

M&M

1. I vowed to not be on facebook or blogger until at least after the trials (googling Leo every day is a special exception) But I just need to lift my spirits up a bit after I realized "something" and after 7 days of sitting for exams.

.
.
.
.
.

DONE 8D

2. Leo has healed and was awarded the Golden Boot or Sepatu Emas, if you're the type of person who watch Indonesian fairytale telemovies with your little sisters on TV3 all too frequently. *di bumi, lautan di udara, begitu banyak kisah tersimpan... dunia khayalan, dunia impian...* Moving on.

"All awards are special, but it is thanks to
the help of my team-mates that I have won,"
- Leo Messi.

3. I've told you in my birthday post that I've always wanted a picture with the sun shining down my back. But I want THIS picture with the sun shining down our my back. ehak.

EDIT: I told you in my bday post  before that I wanted to take a photo with a Leo Messi cardboard because I'd freak out if I ever met him in person. Turns out, it really EXISTS! 8D Ehahahak. But he looks young in this picture, and his hair was still long at the time.

4. I love Maher Zain's songs even more. The first one I've heard of his is InshaAllah, Palestine Will Be Free and The Chosen One, but my all-time favourite would have to be Open Your Eyes. These songs not only have good beats, but they remind you of all the things we've always took for granted, and they contain good messages for today's Muslims. And he's coming to Malaysia! He's coming to UIA and my auntie, Cik Su, who's studying there, got the tickets! There's going to be a fan meeting and everything! It's next Wednesday, DURING the trials, but Cik Su promised to buy some merchandises though, so I guess it's okay. He's holding a concert at MBSA Shah Alam in two weeks, but the tickets were sold out, too -.- Haaih. Maybe next time.

What makes this mv awesome is that some of the scenes are inspired by the life and teachings of Nabi Muhammad, you'll notice some of them, I'm sure :)

Oyes, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO HAZIRAH! :D

Hello, goodbye!

Salam allo! I've been watching Glee which showcased songs of The Beatles. I haven't been exposed to The Beatles a lot, though I loved 'Hey Jude'. By watching Glee, I have come to know some really great Beatles' songs, like 'Imagine' and 'Hello, Goodbye'. They're really great songs! Wokeh, mid-year's going to be next week. I have to get off from the computer. After I emailed my essay, "The Effects (Adverse and Positive) of Cyber Communication' to Ain.

This is how it works:

THE EXAMS ARE OVER! Alhamdulillah! Well, the first assessment that is. So anyway, youtube's back on (in my household that is) so the exams are over so I finally had the chance to peer inside it a bit. So I check out one of Regina Spektor's videos that is On The Radio. It's a great song! Try and have a listen to it :D

This is how it works
You're young until you're not
You love until you don't
You try until you can't
You laugh until you cry
You cry until you laugh
And everyone must breathe
Until their dying breath

This is how it works
You peer inside yourself
You take the things you like
And try to love the things you took
And then you take that love you made
And stick it into some - someone else's heart
Pumping someone else's blood

"I got lost in the sounds."

~ Regina Spektor, Fidelity

Salam, allo :) I've always known to fancy slow and soothing music, like folk or nasyeed, a bit of country is great as well. Though pop songs are fine, but the genre doesn't stand in the apex of my taste in music. Well, I guess that's never gonna change!

At the end of the movie, "Narnia: Prince Caspian" I was mesmerized with the song playing in the scene where Peter and Susan decided not to return to Narnia and that they had learned enough of what's there to learn in the place. So I scouted for the song and then I found it, the song was entitled 'The Call' and was sung by a certain 'Regina Spektor'. I downloaded the song and it stuck in my head for weeks on end and even got to my siblings too. I even recorded a video on Amanda singing the song which was pretty funny and she was only 3 or 4 at the time.

Then I watched (500) Days Of Summer and the catchy tune of the song at the beginning of the movie attracted me, so I went on and searched for the song, and it was sung by Regina Spektor too! The song was very good and the title was 'Us'. Then I started to have interest in her music, then I stumbled upon 'Fidelity' and 'Hotel Song' which are awesome as well. 'Us', 'Fidelity' and 'Hotel Song' have catchier tunes than 'The Call' but I love all of them just the same.

Give her music a listen, perhaps you'd love some of the songs :D Oh yeah, by the way, the third Narnia movie is coming sometime this year! Hope it's after SPM tho, ha.

13-1? Tidaaak!

Kyuhyun leaves a cryptic message in Cyworld? That Hangeng's leaving Super Junior? Donghae upset about it too? Or is it a plot to raise sales like the website speculated? And looks like TVXQ's going through the same thing too?! And that Hangeng's one of the torch bearer in the Beijing 08 Olympics?! Oh. Cool. Err, here's the page to shed a little light of what I just said :)

Though by reading the page, I think Kyuhyun meant by 'the beast' is SM Entertainment, and not Hangeng.. Though nothing's sure about it yet, hope everything's alright :)

Inside out.

Salam allo :)

Jon McLaughlin. I knew him (ceh macam kenal betoi betoi je) from a song in Enchanted, that is So Close. I was crazy for that song when it came out in the movie and if you noticed he had a cameo in the part where Amy Adams and Patrick Dempsey danced in the ballroom. The lyrics were meaningful, and the emotion he displays brought even more depth to that song. Ceh, I sound like a pro (mwahaahha) but really I just loved how the song goes :D

And here's another song that portrays almost the same qualities , Beautiful Disaster. From my point of view (or actually listening) it's about a girl who are still searching for the things that she want to be. She had people in her life (family and friends) but none seemed to accept her in her opinion. She defined their compliments as lies and that it's just a way to be polite and perhaps the "magazine" bit in the lyrics telling her that she's not perfect, that she has to change herself in every way possible. Or perhaps that her appearance is not appealing and she cried when she saw the pictures in the magazine, revealing beauties that she thinks she would never be.

"She just needs someone to take her home" may be interpreted err, differently, but really, I think it means that she needs someone to show her the right path because she's always trying to find a way to change herself, in theoretical, to be more perfect and accepted by the others but she doesn't know that she's just perfect the way she is.
"Cause she's just the way that she is, but no one's told her that's okay."
~ John McLaughlin, Beautiful Disaster
Well I think "beauty and appearance" is the one of themes in this song, so I guess girls are pressured by demands of perfection by the world on how they should look like, how they should dress and that they should have the blond and blue eyes thing. and that girls do all this to be accepted by the community, well specifically by err boys.

"Every magazine tells her she's not good enough, the pictures that she sees make her cry." This verse defines the pressure and thinking that we need to be flawless from top to bottom and "what matters the most is inside of you" thing is heck ridiculous. Now that's ridiculous. Outlandish preposterous bizarre. Absurd and contemptible! Queer and unusual! Err,okkaayy looks like I've gone a wee bit far but thanks anyway thesaurus.com.

Thinking that on the outside alone is the only thing that's to be? HECK NO! You may be be flawless on the outside but it will clearly be outshone by what's inside. Yeah I know it screams
"yeah yeah you're trying to make us feel oh so better, whatever dude! go back to the rottenness where you belong! jerk." Err, I might need some practice on witty remarks.. And anyway I'm a girl too (haven't you noticed? -.-) so I understand all this, and had (very) low self-esteem in the past, but Alhamdulillah I now understand of what's more important and that everyone is really beautiful :) I mean really, if you took a moment or two to put a thought about this, EVERYONE and I mean every single thing is beautiful in their own way, everything of Allah's creations are beautiful, and would be even more beautiful it comes from the inside too :) (insyaAllah...)

Allah is Beautiful and loves beauty.

Allah is Beautiful and loves beauty. This verse doesn't mean that you've to be Miss Universe or something! But it means appearance is vital too, meaning that practicing cleanliness (and looking presentable) covering the 'aurah insyaAllah and displaying manners such as speaking in a not-harsh tone and with well manners to your parents or to the community and all those things. This is the true meaning of beauty in my opinion, insyaAllah and acts as an identity to yourself, your religion, your country et cetera.

And do not speak to the people with your face turned away, nor walk proudly. on the Earth, for Allah does not love any self-conceited, boastful person. (18) Be moderate in your gait, and lower your voice, for the most disagreeable of all voices is the braying of the asses. (19) (Surah Luqman:18-19)

For form 4 muslims, you may heard of this verse in Surah Luqman in the Agama syllabus, giving meanings that appearance in terms of manners is important too. This verse teaches us to be in good terms with all people (regardless of race and religion), to not dwell in arrogance and boastings, and speaking and conversing in a well-mannered tone and not like donkeys (ass) like stated in ayat 19.

All in all, don't worry of what one sees you as, because you know who you really are and that you're doing the right thing, insyaAllah and stick to that. And abstain from judging people of what they look like, pretty doesn't mean that she's an evil world dominator (-.-)and a bit less doesn't mean that she's not and vice versa. And the most important thing is, it's not about being who everyone else wants you to be, it's about being yourself and finding someone who loves every bit of it. InsyaAllah, we'll all find someone who will. And err, don't get me wrong, I'm NOT in the lo vey dovey phase! Yet.. But never mind, the point is, being yourself and that's all that matters :)

And I think that it's cute great that it's coming from a guy because these type of songs are usually sung by women, so I think it gives you some kinda comfort to know that some really do understand :) Oye, here's another song of Jon McL's. Beating My Heart. He had a new haircut in this one :DD Here's the links to Flickr users to whom I owe for the pictures thanks :D

Part of the equation.

Salam, allo!

My exams are over! :DDD Alhamdulillah! A week late from the others, though but never mind it's all over! (let's not discuss the three-letter word shall we?) Well in this post I want to feature 3 of my easy-listening favourite music. My sister Yana introduced me to a song of Zee Avi's, after I introduced her to Zee Avi (Bitter Heart), that is Kantoi. It's Manglish and the lyrics are so simple and humorous and the song is a cheery sing-along. Masa pertama kali dengar lagu dia, memang bunyi cam mat saleh betoi tapi dia sebenarbenarbenarnya orang Melayu! Nama dia hok betul ialah Izyan Alirahman. Though this song is fun, I like Bitter Heart better :D

And I'm in love with Travis' songs even more! They're not like other music which is deafeningly loud. It's just easy listening :) Not that I don't like pop, it's just okay, but I prefer easy listening more :D My other favourites of them are Closer and Driftwood. While Alya liked Selfish Jean and one thing many probably didn't know is that they are often credited with having paved the way for bands such as Coldplay :D

Here's another one of my easy listening favourites. I love his music since last year and you probably know or don't know, he's the one who wrote the ever-popular Your Mother. Yang who next? Your mother. Who next? Your mother tu, tau enggak? Tau dok? :D But his most famous to the Western world is the The First Cut Is The Deepest. Look it up, you may probably heard it from your parents but the more famous covers of that song are of Rob Stewart and Sheryl Crow. But this song was before he converted to Islam. The story of his convert is amazing and inspirational. Here's the Wikipedia page of Yusuf Islam. And I love his soothing voice and the message he brings in his songs. I love A is for Allah, Father and Son with Ronan Keating, God is The Light with Raihan.

Closing walls and ticking clocks.

Yana has many favourite bands, one of them is Coldplay (mine,
too :D) and while scouring Youtube, she showed this to me.

Simply amazing :)

"They're afraid of making a fool of themselves."

"Driftwood is a song for the person in your life who has so much potential and, yet, doesn't use it because they're afraid of falling on their backside, you know, they're afraid of making a fool of themselves. But, yet, if they put their minds to it and just threw their plate out the window, they would actually do a lot with it and make themselves happy and other people happy."
- Francis Healy (lead vocals of the AWESOME band, Travis)

Well, I guess each one of us has something to learn from this song. Don't hold back of what you want to obtain the most out of fear and anxiety of what might happen. 'Cause we don't know of it. And we won't until we try. Just hold on, hope for the best and enjoy the ride. Well I guess I should follow my own advice, haha x]

Oooo, balik kampung, hati girang! :D

Salam allo. Well today is rather ought to be wrote down in history of its peak. MY BIRTHDAY! xD Hahaha. Well there are quite many that had happened today and quite many homework to catch up since I was absent yesterday (and today's homework too...) So couldn't quite update now. So this is probably the last post for a while lah. Not that anybody really cares, I think :P

We'll probably depart on Thursday morning insyaAllah. We decided to set off earlier to avoid the horrible traffic jam. Srsly, if your kampung is at Kelantan, you'd probably worried of the traffic jams too. Once, we travelled for a whole day! And once, the traffic jam was so bad that we have to turn back and to set off the following day! And to make it much worse (feeling sympathy already or not? :P) there are no highways to Kelantan. Srsly. Kerajaan punye psl la ni (lu pkr la sdr :]) InsyaAllah Aishah kata nanti ada kot. Harap2 ye.

Hmm harap2 semua anak2 Kelate kat KL ni tak pikir benda yg sama nak blk awal hari Khamis ni! Haha :P So I've to pass up my PEKA Chemistry earlier than the others! Maann, no copy copying in the last minute as always :P

edit: UPDATE! 16:34 on September 17th.

Well, we decided to balik kampung on Saturday. 3 am in the morning. Yes :) Well desperate times calls for desperate measures! All this to avoid the horrible traffic jam. All you Kelantanese residing in KL would probably agree. But don't agree going back on the same time as us eh! Cucuk biji mata tu karang! (bak kata alya)

And ye, I've got the chance to copy copy in the last minute! :D Hey, saling mencopy bkn mencopy copy yee.. Bagai aur dengan tebing la katakan. ceh.

edit: UPDATE II! 12:08 on September 18th

Well, changed it again x] We decided to depart today in the evening, I think, insyaAllah. Which shows that we may have the power to plan, but Allah has the power on everything. Err, insyaAllah it's the right translation to "kita hanya mampu merancang, tapi Allah menentukan segala-galanya." :D

Take you wonder by wonder.

Salam, allo. Hari tu dok saje saje je search "Kyuhyun" kat youtube, maka, terserempaklah dengan video kat atas ni. Walaupun Kyuhyun rambut kuning masa tu ~ tapi tidak mengapa sebab suara dia mmg power! Hahaa. Lagu ni memang menggamit memori btol. Dulu-dulu masa kecik, kitaorg empat beradik masa tuh, saya, Ammar, Adriana dan Amani mmg suka lagu ni.

Setiap kali tengok Aladdin, mesti kitaorg bersiap-siap dok atas kerusi. Mengikut dunia realiti, memang kerusi. Mengikut dunia fantasi kanak-kanak ribena, kerusi tu jadi magic carpet. Saya ngan Adriana, Ammar ngan Amani. Kahkahkah. Hmmm...
