After years of no graphic designing...

... well I finally designed a graphic! Not exactly years berkurun-kurun ke pe, it's been almost a year because of certain circumstances.. Ceh, padahal -- maleh nak bitahu. This one I basically just slapped on some brushes I just downloaded on the plain window thingy. I didn't do anything really, it's all thanks to the ones who designed the brushes themselves. Actually I was just testing the brushes and patterns I've just downloaded and then came my sister Yana and said

"Ni untuk birthday Yana ke?"
"Errrr... Yana nak ke?"
"Nak nak!"
"Okk.."

Takkan nak menghampakan dia kan.. Because last year I made graphics for my family and friends for their birthday but then I stopped recently because of said circumstances. (ceh, padahal --- maleh ah nak bagitahu!) So I asked her whose picture she would like for me to add on, and she said "Miley Cyrus." ditolak. "Jonas Bros." double tolak! "Selena Gomez!" errr.. So then we decided to put on her other fave artists that is Taylor Swift & Paramore. Paramore? -__- She and I have completely different music tastes (kalau melibatkan muzik2 yang agak 'ganas'. ceh, orang pakai drum sikit dah kata ganas dah, ehakehak)

But my graphic designing is wee bit rusty because there's too much going on there and it's kinda messy in my opinion but I guess it's ok.. Anyway, Yana I hope you liked it! Ceh cam dia baca blog ni.. Okla, tanya dia sendiri lah, dok sebelah je sebenarnya.. Ciao, wasalam.

Inside out.

Salam allo :)

Jon McLaughlin. I knew him (ceh macam kenal betoi betoi je) from a song in Enchanted, that is So Close. I was crazy for that song when it came out in the movie and if you noticed he had a cameo in the part where Amy Adams and Patrick Dempsey danced in the ballroom. The lyrics were meaningful, and the emotion he displays brought even more depth to that song. Ceh, I sound like a pro (mwahaahha) but really I just loved how the song goes :D

And here's another song that portrays almost the same qualities , Beautiful Disaster. From my point of view (or actually listening) it's about a girl who are still searching for the things that she want to be. She had people in her life (family and friends) but none seemed to accept her in her opinion. She defined their compliments as lies and that it's just a way to be polite and perhaps the "magazine" bit in the lyrics telling her that she's not perfect, that she has to change herself in every way possible. Or perhaps that her appearance is not appealing and she cried when she saw the pictures in the magazine, revealing beauties that she thinks she would never be.

"She just needs someone to take her home" may be interpreted err, differently, but really, I think it means that she needs someone to show her the right path because she's always trying to find a way to change herself, in theoretical, to be more perfect and accepted by the others but she doesn't know that she's just perfect the way she is.
"Cause she's just the way that she is, but no one's told her that's okay."
~ John McLaughlin, Beautiful Disaster
Well I think "beauty and appearance" is the one of themes in this song, so I guess girls are pressured by demands of perfection by the world on how they should look like, how they should dress and that they should have the blond and blue eyes thing. and that girls do all this to be accepted by the community, well specifically by err boys.

"Every magazine tells her she's not good enough, the pictures that she sees make her cry." This verse defines the pressure and thinking that we need to be flawless from top to bottom and "what matters the most is inside of you" thing is heck ridiculous. Now that's ridiculous. Outlandish preposterous bizarre. Absurd and contemptible! Queer and unusual! Err,okkaayy looks like I've gone a wee bit far but thanks anyway thesaurus.com.

Thinking that on the outside alone is the only thing that's to be? HECK NO! You may be be flawless on the outside but it will clearly be outshone by what's inside. Yeah I know it screams
"yeah yeah you're trying to make us feel oh so better, whatever dude! go back to the rottenness where you belong! jerk." Err, I might need some practice on witty remarks.. And anyway I'm a girl too (haven't you noticed? -.-) so I understand all this, and had (very) low self-esteem in the past, but Alhamdulillah I now understand of what's more important and that everyone is really beautiful :) I mean really, if you took a moment or two to put a thought about this, EVERYONE and I mean every single thing is beautiful in their own way, everything of Allah's creations are beautiful, and would be even more beautiful it comes from the inside too :) (insyaAllah...)

Allah is Beautiful and loves beauty.

Allah is Beautiful and loves beauty. This verse doesn't mean that you've to be Miss Universe or something! But it means appearance is vital too, meaning that practicing cleanliness (and looking presentable) covering the 'aurah insyaAllah and displaying manners such as speaking in a not-harsh tone and with well manners to your parents or to the community and all those things. This is the true meaning of beauty in my opinion, insyaAllah and acts as an identity to yourself, your religion, your country et cetera.

And do not speak to the people with your face turned away, nor walk proudly. on the Earth, for Allah does not love any self-conceited, boastful person. (18) Be moderate in your gait, and lower your voice, for the most disagreeable of all voices is the braying of the asses. (19) (Surah Luqman:18-19)

For form 4 muslims, you may heard of this verse in Surah Luqman in the Agama syllabus, giving meanings that appearance in terms of manners is important too. This verse teaches us to be in good terms with all people (regardless of race and religion), to not dwell in arrogance and boastings, and speaking and conversing in a well-mannered tone and not like donkeys (ass) like stated in ayat 19.

All in all, don't worry of what one sees you as, because you know who you really are and that you're doing the right thing, insyaAllah and stick to that. And abstain from judging people of what they look like, pretty doesn't mean that she's an evil world dominator (-.-)and a bit less doesn't mean that she's not and vice versa. And the most important thing is, it's not about being who everyone else wants you to be, it's about being yourself and finding someone who loves every bit of it. InsyaAllah, we'll all find someone who will. And err, don't get me wrong, I'm NOT in the lo vey dovey phase! Yet.. But never mind, the point is, being yourself and that's all that matters :)

And I think that it's cute great that it's coming from a guy because these type of songs are usually sung by women, so I think it gives you some kinda comfort to know that some really do understand :) Oye, here's another song of Jon McL's. Beating My Heart. He had a new haircut in this one :DD Here's the links to Flickr users to whom I owe for the pictures thanks :D

Twenty twelve.

The day when man will call to mind his (whole) endeavour, (An-Naazi'at:35)

Salam, allo.

2012. Everyone's raving about it and eagerly wanting to see the movie that's coming out in about three day's time. And in the net, there's quite an arousing concern because according to historic prophecies, the world will come to an end on 21st December 2012 when the ancient Mayan Long Count Calendar comes to an abrupt end. Heck, now there's even a website that sells supplies (emergency food, emergency radio, survival handbook, medical kits) to be ready if the 2012 prophecy comes true! I'm not saying it's wrong, nor is it true, but we as mere human beings will never know. Only Allah knows of it and there has been minor signs of The Day Of Judgement (Yaum Ad-Din) as of late, but when it will happen, we're never be completely sure of. Now let's take a peek at the trailer.

Whoaa. Looks, err, disastrous and full of.. well, disaster! (it is called a disaster movie -.-) And this comes ONLY from a mere human's imagination? MashaAllah. Well, truth to be told is, I actually want to see this movie too :P Well, who knows? There might be a thing or two that can be learned.

Nabi bersabda maksudnya:

"Apabila mati seseorang insan, maka akan terputuslah segala amalannya kecuali tiga perkara, iaitu sedekah jariah, ilmu yang dimanfaatkan daripadanya dan doa anak soleh yang sentiasa mendoakannya." (Diriwayatkan oleh Abu Hurairah)

But the most important thing is, the important thing is not about knowing when will it happen, but to be ready and to increase our faith to Allah for his blessings and rahmah and to face the future full of challenges, insyaAllah (and I too should follow this advice, insyaAllah). All in all, this is purely opinions from a 16-year-old's perspective who has much to learn and if there were any wrongs, they should be avoided and could be pointed out :) Thank you.

WeLoveHijab.com

Salam allo :D

Chatted with Amirah a few days ago, among the topics are of the shopping thingy (insyaAllah jadi :D), SECRET thingys (serius jahat masa ni xD), me disturbed by my sister weeping the middle of the night, she by her cat, orang mengigau and me playing a prank of the year on her MWAHAHAHA, Yoo Seung Ho, and she asked me where I bought cardigans. So I remembered a website I used to go that is welovehijab.com and been following it since late last year or early this year (not that you care eh?) And the admin's been on hiatus for months and now she's back again :D For muslimahs, this website is for you as it features style for the modern urban women (ceh I don't think I'm qualified for that term yet xD), but still covers the aurah. But non-muslims can get some style ideas too from here :)

This website features Q&A on hijab, others' experiences of wearing hijab, style ideas like abayas, hijabs, and particularly the website's admin's fave, cardigans or long jackets worn over (almost) sleeveless dresses (most of them knee-long) which is my hijab style right now. Comfortable and hijab-friendly :D Although my style is much more simpler than the ones in the website because I don't like accessories or complex patterns that much. Less is more for me :) And I DONT wear high heels -.-

Here are some of the interesting pieces for hijab style ideas I found on the website.

Long cardigans worn over long dresses :D

Cardigans not exactly your cup of tea on sweltering days? Try this! The dress looks uncomfortable
for hot days, but according to the website it's made of lightweight material so it's comfy :)

Alya made me like pink now x) But only dark and deep pink not bright ones. Nevertheless, this outfit looks cute :)
Though for me I'd wear it with a simple long t-shirt. And WITHOUT heels. Looks so unstable that one O_o

I love simple stripes! :D Though for me I'd wear a simple cardigan and NOT wear high heels -.-

Love the middle one. Suitable for work-outs! Though I don't work out xD Except when hari sukan is approaching mwahaha.

And look at these abayas from shukr.co.uk! Nice eh? :D Sure if you got 50 pounds lying around for each. But I
think it's quite reasonable, because abayas are quite expensive as they're made from high-quality material.

And it even caters to women who are up-to-date with the latest trend like ruffles, stripes and such. The admin researched for what's hot on the runway or what the celebs are wearing, and scavenge for pieces that suits to Muslim women to cover the aurah. For example:

There are some other celebs featured too like Julianne Moore and Rachel Bilson :)

Waist-chincing isn't very hijab friendly as it reveals the body shape (i like the green one though :D) but you can still style it like this:

The belt can be worn under a cardigan or a jacket so that the body
shape can be concealed but you can still style belts! Genius eh? :D

Though the pieces featured in the website are pretty expensive.. And even expensive-r converted to MYR -___- But never mind you can get some ideas here and just mix and match of what you have or buy almost identical things (or the same concept) and far more cheaper than the ones featured in the website. And for me, my outfits are much more simpler (dresses and cardigans), and I don't care about trends as long as it is comfy and hijab-friendly insyaAllah, and I dont wear heels -_- or accessories and I usually wear sling bags, but it's up to you to style it and it doesn't matter if it was from the 50s because it's one of the ways for you to express yourself. For even more style ideas, go to the website:
