A dose of Pantai Timur!

Currently in Kelantan

and then to Terengganu!

Do not be alarmed if I come back and speak Pantai Timur-ly with a unmistakably-fluent-dialect-and-like-I've-lived-there-all-my-life dialect. You've been warned.

A 12-hour trip from KB to KL.

Salam, allo. Just another random update. Well my family and I had got back from KB on Saturday and guess how long it took? HALF A DAY. 12 hours, 720 minutes, and count-it-yourself secondsss... Really. On normal days it would've took about 8 hours but the road was SO PACKED that we had to take an alternative route that is through the kampungs and FELDA residences.

And it was quite of an amazing sight to see. We went through mini bridges (steel, thank God) across a river (or tali air, not sure) and lush greeneries and listened to Baba of his childhood experiences at the area (Kuala Krai) and not listening to Baba's stories (ambo dok tengah tido lah masa tu, kuikuikui) and we couldn't help but thank the creators of the GPS (and the Creator of all Himself of course) because without it, we wouldn't have gotten through the trip without traffic jams Alhamdulillah :D (which was repetitively remarked by Baba. I guess he wanted to remind us how skeptical we were when we first know of his "significant investment". :P) Although.... at some point there were two roads diverged in a yellow wood. Hehe yep this is a line from the Robert Frost's The Road Not Taken (Form 4 syllabus) and Hazirah's favourite (line). tehee.

And just at the exact moment when we were about to ask a group of young men where to head to, a chubby man was putting on a chair a homemade sign that says "KE KUALA LUMPUR" haha. And he points to the sign and triumphantly says "BERRRRESSSSS!" while putting his arm in a "showing off my muscles" position and moving it up and down. (I did my best in explaining orait..) kuikuikui. Kitaorg dok tergelak-gelak masa tu and said thank you to the man. Kitaorg buat andaian yang dah ramai dah yang bertanya sebelum tu. kahkahkah. Here are some pics:

Alternative route.
Through a kampung.
MashaAllah, a nice view :)
Another "significant investment" although it's pretty useful when
you've got two toddlers who tend to throw tantrums when they
get bored on long trips. Sigh, kids these days are so privileged :P
Yana goofing around in my uncle's-soon-to-be-wife's car.
(in Jawi: "InsyaAllah selamat")
Alhamdulillah selamat sampai :D

We departed from KB at abt 9 am and arrived at abt 9 pm. Although it was a looooooooooooooooong trip, Alhamdulillah we arrived safely :D And back to school. Ambo terkena virus. Virus malas nak gi sekolahh.. Mwahaha. Although I was quite happy to meet my friends again but the happiness seems to be dripping out of me in the form of sweat when the exam odour is in the air. It was to be on 21st of October. In three weeks. WAAAAAAH.

Doakan kitaorg berjaya ek, trimas :)

Oooo, balik kampung, hati girang! :D

Salam allo. Well today is rather ought to be wrote down in history of its peak. MY BIRTHDAY! xD Hahaha. Well there are quite many that had happened today and quite many homework to catch up since I was absent yesterday (and today's homework too...) So couldn't quite update now. So this is probably the last post for a while lah. Not that anybody really cares, I think :P

We'll probably depart on Thursday morning insyaAllah. We decided to set off earlier to avoid the horrible traffic jam. Srsly, if your kampung is at Kelantan, you'd probably worried of the traffic jams too. Once, we travelled for a whole day! And once, the traffic jam was so bad that we have to turn back and to set off the following day! And to make it much worse (feeling sympathy already or not? :P) there are no highways to Kelantan. Srsly. Kerajaan punye psl la ni (lu pkr la sdr :]) InsyaAllah Aishah kata nanti ada kot. Harap2 ye.

Hmm harap2 semua anak2 Kelate kat KL ni tak pikir benda yg sama nak blk awal hari Khamis ni! Haha :P So I've to pass up my PEKA Chemistry earlier than the others! Maann, no copy copying in the last minute as always :P

edit: UPDATE! 16:34 on September 17th.

Well, we decided to balik kampung on Saturday. 3 am in the morning. Yes :) Well desperate times calls for desperate measures! All this to avoid the horrible traffic jam. All you Kelantanese residing in KL would probably agree. But don't agree going back on the same time as us eh! Cucuk biji mata tu karang! (bak kata alya)

And ye, I've got the chance to copy copy in the last minute! :D Hey, saling mencopy bkn mencopy copy yee.. Bagai aur dengan tebing la katakan. ceh.

edit: UPDATE II! 12:08 on September 18th

Well, changed it again x] We decided to depart today in the evening, I think, insyaAllah. Which shows that we may have the power to plan, but Allah has the power on everything. Err, insyaAllah it's the right translation to "kita hanya mampu merancang, tapi Allah menentukan segala-galanya." :D

Trick or Treat!

Salam, allo! To the loyal readers of my humble blog - which I know not many none exists xD haha nvm - you may probably read a post somewhere on july or june that I was gonna post a post on Kelantanese food righht? So here ye are! Oye, if you were wondering, the title has its meanings. Kitaorg blk kg, kat Kelantan.. The 'trick' was that when Yana pranked a mak cik on the phone when the mak cik was enquiring the 'ustaz', our grandfather which was very funny xD So saje2la nak bagi cantek title tu. mwahaha.

The 'treats' is what you are about to see lah. Harap maklum, bukan sebab tengah puasa ke ape (hhaha) tapi sbb dah dok tangguh lama sangat dah benda ni. Lagipun sunat buka puasa dgn makanan yg manis dok? So... Kelantan is very well known for their irresistibly sweet delicacies and such. Heck, even the sambal tastes sweet here! :D Sambal and sweet.. not your everyday word combination eh? ok la, mari kita meneruskan perjuangan kita! :D

Haa mesti ada yg tengah garu kepala bak ada kutu dok fikir makanan apa
la ni kan? Fret not! I am here to save the day! ehaha. Sori masa puasa ni
tiba-tiba jadi hiper sikit. Jangkit ngan Amirah la ni. Ni ais kacang + buah
-buahan. Tak pasti buah apa tapi rasanya labu, starfruit & cermai kot.
Apa2la yg penting sedaaapp :DDD MANIS RATING: 8/10

Ni plak kuih akok. Mmg sedap :D Kuih ni memang popular sepopular
-popularnya la kat Kelate. Tak pernah nampak jual tak tempat lain.
Tapi kat KL adela tapi yg jualnya oghe kelate jugok. Klau korang ada
kesempatan makan, maka makan lah. Tak rugi :D MANIS RATING: 7.5/10

Yg ni sape tak tau dok? Ni baulu lah. Tapi bukan cam baulu kat tempat
lain. Jangan maen2, ni bakar dengan arang tau! Kat tempat lain tatau
la ada jual cam ni ke tak. Walaupun tak berapa manis kalau nak banding
dgn yg lain in this list, tapi mmg sedap! :D MANIS RATING: 5.5/10

Haaa, ni plak.. err, tatau la nama dia apa. Heheh. Tapi mmg sedap,
rangup! Gambar ni amik masa kat atas bas, best ngup ngap ngup ngap
biskut ni. Tapi diia cam ala-ala biskut tapi tak biskut pastu ada gula
kat luar tu. Tapi gula tu mmg dah keras la. Heheh. Harap maaf deskripsi
yg tak bbrp nak btoi. Heheh. MANIS RATING: 7.2/10

Hah kuih ni mmg manis semanis-manisnya! Kuih cek mek molek! Ye
tu nama btol. Luar dia diperbuat drpd ubi keledek. Dalamnya gula
cair... mantop! Ni mmg femes sefemes- femesnya la kat Kelantan
& Terengganu. MANIS RATING: 9/10

Ha ini dia, the ultimate - kuih bunga tanjung :D Tak berkesempatan
nak makan masa balik kg hari tu, maka dpt google saje la. Mungkin

tak pernah rasa kan, maka tanyalah si budak yg jaga kedai tu berapa
harganya. Bdk tu jawab RM5. Siapa yg tak terkejut, RM5 sebungkus!
Auntie sy jawab la "Mahalnyo, dik!" Dia pergi jawab, "Ye la kak.. Kita
letak isi ketam.. bukan kulit ketam.." Haha. Tapi takpe, sekali sekala.
Tapi mmg sedap! :D Oleh sebab ni tak dikategorikan sbg manis, maka
sedap rating la. SEDAP RATING: 7.5/10

Last but not least.. TIMUN! Kalau korang enggak tau, dua2 ni dipanggil 'timun' kat Kelate.
Tembikai panggil 'timun cina'. Timun tu panggil timun laaahh. Pelik tapi benar :D Yg
tembikai tu mmg manis. Rating.. 7.5 kot.Yg timun tu kepala hotak kau manis.

Ceh ganas la plak :P

Begitulah al-kisahnya. Alhamdulillah ada kesempatan ambo rasa makan mknn yg sdp2 ni :D Oye harap maklum rating tu berdasarkan tahap kemanisan, bkn kesedapan sbb sedap tu mmg sedap! :DD So.. kalau korang ada kesempatan nak pi Kelate, rebutla peluang mkn mknn tersebut yekk.. Dan kalau ada yg tengah terliur tu, saborrr.. Nak bukak puasa dah ni. mwahaha.

Home Sweet Home.

Salam, allo.

I got back from kampung on Saturday, June 6th and although I like spending my time with my family members at kampung in KB, nothing beats the feeling of being home at last. Like the saying that goes, "Home Sweet Home!"

It was a pretty long day on our journey. First, Tok Ma, Tok Abah, Cumie & Cik Tik sent us to the bus station and we arrived there approx. 9.10 in the morning. The trip was to be on 9.30. We waited for about an hour and the bus is still nowhere in sight. Then Cik Tik accidentally heard (then eavesdrop :P) on a conversation about the bus. A trailer had an accident somewhere so the bus that's heading towards the bus station couldn't pass through so the bus had to take the long way out.

The long way out means that we waited for 3 hours. Yes. Seriously. But I don't think we're the ones who were to be pitied here, the passangers on the bus were on it for half a day! Imagine, they were on the night bus and arrived at the station at approximately 12 p.m. the next day!

Furthermore, there was the KB mall beside the bus station just about 50 metres away. So, we weren't really bored to death. HAHAH. We went to the A&W restaurant which was located at the corner of the mall so we had a clear view if by chance that the bus is arriving. We bought A&W burgers to be eaten at the bus, indulge in A&W float, rode on kiddy rides (a-year-old and a 4-year-old only lah! :P), bought some buns and all. And I ventured out a whole floor by my own to find the CLEO Magazine (June 2009) because I saw one at a mini market about four days back and there was Taylor Swift on the cover so that's why I want to buy it la.

But I couldn't find it and I couldn't go to the upper floors because the bus might arrive at any time at the time (but I bought it yesterday) Then, finally, the bus arrived. But we had to wait for about an hour for it to be cleaned and finally, we were on board the bus (it's a double-decker). We arrived at the Hentian Bas Putra at 8 pm, safe and sound Alhamdulillah :)

Oh yeah, as you may know or may not know, but I guess you know, Kelantanese are pretty well-known for their scrumptious and sweet delicacies and as I've had the chance to taste some of them in my previous trip to Kelantan (except kuih bunga tanjung though :\), I've took the liberty to take some pictures of them but I couldn't upload them just yet because the USB for my phone is nowhere to be found, so I guess it'll have to wait then till I can upload it, insyaAllah.

P/S: I've changed my blog URL just for fun :D
